This year, our Days of service event made a collective impact across our community, providing meals for thousands in need. More than 600 volunteers and staff members gathered (safely distanced) to pack grocery boxes for those in need on September 11. In just one day, we packed 2,000 boxes that were then distributed to families and individuals facing hunger across the metro area through our Y branches, providing a total of more than 16,000 meals. Food insecurity is a rapidly growing issue in our communities amid the global pandemic, and the Y will continue to serve as long as this need exists.
